Course Title: East Asia: Its Enlightened Revolutions & Dark Shadows
Description: Students explore the spread of philosophical and religious thought in East Asian countries – such as China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Specifically the course focuses on the movements created by philosophers, artists, and political revolutionaries. The trail of movements is explored through a variety of lenses – such as cinema, fiction, and primary historical documents. The course includes field trips to Asian sites in the Seattle area.
