The University of Washington’s Global Research Group (GRG) aims to connect the innovation mindset of the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies top achieving students with private and public sector organizations seeking impactful, globally-minded analyses to support their strategic and operational objectives.

As part of the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies International Policy Institute, the GRG and its consultants seek to improve the transfer of research and expertise between higher education, the private sector, and the policy world.

Since the program’s launch in 2009, over 125 students have been trained as GRG consultants and completed projects that crystallized complex data in actionable insights for a wide variety of organizations including Starbucks, Microsoft, Global Washington, williamsworks, Construction for Change, Rohingya Project, The United Nations, and The Tableau Foundation. With research topics ranging from cybersecurity policy to the advancement of human rights, the ARP prepares students to be leaders through hands-on experiences that connect theory with practice in direct and impactful ways.
