South Asia Center Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellow Nathanael Mark (MA – South Asia Studies) was recently featured in a story for the Jackson School Report on the impact of FLAS fellowships at UW and beyond.

“FLAS has been an indispensable component of my collegiate career for two main reasons: It has given me the tools and resources to enrich myself in the Persian language, allowing me to work intimately with Afghan sources in their language of origin, and surrounded me with like-minded individuals dedicated to language and academic study, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment,” said Nathanael.

The South Asia Center offers FLAS fellowships for the study of Bangla, Hindi, Persian, and Urdu.
