Student Travel Grants

2023-24 Student Research and Travel Grants

The South Asia Center is pleased to announce a call for applications for South Asia Studies Student Fund Research Materials and Conference Travel Grants.

Small grants will be awarded to fund the purchase of conference travel and registration fees, materials, supplies, and/or services in support of research or study related to South Asia during the 2023-24 academic year. (It is possible to apply retroactively for support.)

Eligible proposals may include (but are not limited to): travel to conferences, in-person or online conference registration fees, software, computer accessories, books, e-books (especially those not available in UW Libraries), hard drives, cloud services, library services, webcams, print and copy services, etc.

Eligibility: Open to University of Washington graduate students with affiliation to the South Asia Center who are currently enrolled full time in a graduate program.

Award amount: approx. $200-$300 each

Application deadline: Friday, December 15, 2023 (applicants will be notified and grant funds will be disbursed in January 2024)
