Student Travel Grants

Note: Due to current travel restrictions, the student travel grant program is currently on hold. The 2020-21 South Asia Studies Student Fund will instead award small grants to graduate students for research materials.

The South Asia Center is pleased to announce a call for applications for South Asia Studies Student Fund Research Materials Grants.

Given the current restrictions on conference travel and access to facilities, small grants will be awarded to fund the purchase of materials, supplies, and/or services in support of research or study on South Asia during the 2020-21 academic year.

Eligible proposals may include (but are not limited to) support for purchasing software, computer accessories, books, e-books (especially those not available in UW Libraries), hard drives, cloud services, library services, online conference registration fees, webcams, printers/scanners and printer supplies, etc.

Eligibility: Open to UW graduate students with affiliation to the South Asia Center who are currently enrolled full time in a graduate program.

Award amount: The Fund will support grants of $200 each.

Application deadline: Friday, December 4, 2020 by 11:59pm PST
