Assembling our annual Jackson Report is never easy. As the University of Washington’s home for international, area and global studies; as the administrative hub for 22 centers and programs; as a Washington State resource for public programming, K-12 educators, policy makers and media outlets; and as the intellectual community for world-class faculty, staff and students, we do a lot in a year. What I hope you will take away from the Jackson Report 2022-2023 is how we as a School continue to rise to the challenges of our ever interconnected and changing world.
New faculty books, new student research projects, innovations in teacher training and study abroad, captivating public lectures; these are the ways that we as a School make a complex world make more sense. The fact that we can, and do, continue this work year after year is a testament to the support we receive from this campus and this community. Everyone here at the Jackson School is proud to share with you how we met the moment over the past academic year, and how we will do so again in what we hope will be a more peaceful, but surely no less complex, year ahead.
