Sylvia Chowdhury
About
Sylvia Nasreen Chowdhury is a bilingual poet, visual artist and doctoral student in the Department of English. Her writing and ethnographic research explores transnational mobility and rhetorical practice in the Bengali diaspora. She holds an M.A in English from the University of Washington and a B.A with triple emphasis in Education, Literary and Visual Arts from the Evergreen State College. She was the recipient of the Top Scholar Award (2022), Joan Webber Outstanding Teaching Prize (2024) and the Hilen Summer Research Fellowship in American Studies and Culture (2024). Her creative writing can be found in Sanctuaries (2024), Rigorous Mag, and The Paragon Journal.
