Manisha Jha
About
South Asia Center FLAS Fellow: Summer 2019
Manisha is double-majoring in public health and international studies and plans to attend medical school after college. She is a student researcher at the UW Center for Human Rights and spent two and a half years writing and editing at The Daily. In India, Manisha studied third-year Hindi, but more importantly, was able to reconnect with her family after over a decade of lost contact. She believes FLAS gave her the opportunity of a lifetime. Upon her return, Manisha decided to write her Jackson School Honors thesis on open defecation and sexual violence in the areas her family is native to. In her free time, Manisha likes to hang out with dogs, watch TV shows about espionage and cartels, and dream of traveling to see her grandmother again soon.
