About

I am a Fulbright scholar from Pakistan. I earned my bachelor’s degree in social sciences and liberal arts from Karachi during which my research focused on oral histories of Muslim women, as I studied the intersections of citizenship, migration, identities and bureaucratic violence in a post-Partition context. My current research interests include the connections between Islamic law and imperial law in the Mughal Empire, and the social history of divided families in South Asia after 1947.
