South Asia Center FLAS Fellow: Summer 2020
Anupa is currently an MPH candidate within the Department of Global Health. Before coming to UW, Anupa worked for Adhikaar, a Queens-based worker and community center that serves and organizes Nepali speaking immigrants and refugees. Previously, Anupa served as Program Director for GlobeMed, overseeing its leadership development program for undergraduates, specifically minority and low-income students. She also worked as part of the Grantmaking team for the Groundswell Fund, the largest funder for US based reproductive justice organizing. Her research has focused on mental health, migration, and local organizing efforts addressing substance abuse and addiction among youth in Ladakh, India. She has a B.A. in Public Health and Journalism from the University of Rochester.
