International Film Festival with International Studies

When: Monday, September 23, from 1:30 pm–3:45 pm
Description: Join the Jackson School students, faculty, and staff for an International Film Festival at Thomson Hall. Share a movie with your friends! Exciting and interesting information about International Studies, delicious popcorn, and sweet treats will await you. Some movies may start or end with a short discussion with the students, faculty, or staff.
Summary of all International Films: Movies will show at the same time, so grab some popcorn and candy (just outside THO 111) and choose a film to watch–

 

International Studies with A SIDE OF PIZZA!

When: Monday, September 23, from 4:00 – 5:00 pm
Description: Do you think globally when you think about your future career? Then join us for a pizza-packed info session with the Jackson School of International Studies. An informal and fun hour of Q&A opportunities with students, faculty, and staff. Bring your water bottle. We’ve got the pizza. *Pizza is first come, first served*

Our planet… our space?

When: Tuesday, September 24, from 10:00 am–11:00 am – Space is limited. First come, first served. 
Description:
    • Join us at the UW Planetarium to spend time under the stars. At this event, you can connect with Jackson School faculty and explore the wonders of space and technology! This event is open to UW students, we look forward to meeting you!
    • Who “owns” the new frontier? There’s way more to it than you can imagine! Join space security expert Saadia M. Pekkanen and International technology and cybersecurity expert Jessica Beyer, Jackson School professors, as they present a brief and impactful introduction to cybersecurity, technology, and diplomacy. Hear about emerging threats and new developments in international security in outer space. Then take your own journey into space with a wonderful Planetarium presentation. Follow up with a fun get together of snacks and conversation. A real treat for all new and current students!
    • The UW Planetarium is located in room A220, near the end of the hall on the second floor. The second floor is accessible via spiral staircase or the elevator, which is located to the right of the stairwell.

Ice Cream Sundae Bar with UW Jewish Studies

When: Tuesday, September 24, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Description: Join us for a sweet and casual gathering where you can enjoy a delicious ice cream sundae while connecting with students, faculty, and staff from UW’s Jewish Studies program. Whether you’re new to the program or a returning student, everyone is welcome to attend, make new connections, and learn about upcoming Jewish Studies courses, the major and minor, and funding opportunities.

International Studies Trivia with the Jackson School Student Association

When: Friday, September 27, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm
Description:  Join the Jackson School Student Association for an engaging International Studies trivia event! Players will compete to answer a range of questions on international treaties, geography, history, and more. The first to six correct answers win a prize of candy and/or stickers. Alongside the trivia, we’ll also host a brief session highlighting opportunities within the Jackson School, featuring firsthand experiences from past participants.
