Special guest tablaist Zakir Hussain was interviewed by Professors Sunila S. Kale and Ramesh Gangolli of UW on Nov. 8. Highlights included Zakirji describing learning to play tabla from his father, his collaborations with many of the giants of South Asian music and with musicians from all over the world, and his experiences when he first visited the University of Washington in 1970.
He played a sold-out concert at Meany Theater on Sunday, November 19th.
