The South Asia Center congratulates two recent Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellows on receiving prizes from the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies!
Yogasai Gazula (BA International Studies, FLAS Fellow in Hindi and Sanskrit) received Best Undergraduate Paper for her paper, “Always On-Demand: How the Gig Economy is Changing Traditional Work Practices,” which she wrote this past spring in South Asia Studies faculty Sunila Kale‘s JSIS 498 Capitalism class.
Anupa Gewali (MPH Global Health and MSW Social Work, FLAS Fellow in Nepali) received the Martha H. Duggan Fellowship in Caring Labor for her work with Nepali-speaking immigrants and refugees.
