Cosmopolitan Dreams by Jennifer Dubrow

May 2, 2019

Professor Jennifer Dubrow’s new monograph, Cosmopolitan Dreams: The Making of Modern Urdu Literature in Colonial South Asia, is receiving rave reviews across the pond.

Jennifer’s work looks at the development of Urdu literary culture as a contemporary rejoinder to a complex milieu of intercultural influences in North India.  Her disquisition highlights the intersection of colonial influence and the growth of 19th century Urdu literature.
