We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Emeritus Paul Brass, whose contributions to the Jackson School of International Studies and Political Science department have been leaving indelible marks since he began teaching at UW in 1965. His obituary can be found here.
As fellow UW Professor Emeritus Frank Conlon stated in his memorial post: “Paul was a prolific and original scholar who explored comparative and South Asian politics, ethnic politics, communalism and collective violence.”
Tributes to Professor Brass’ contribution to Indian political science were recently published in the Hindustan Times and The Print.
Professor Brass will be deeply missed.
