On Friday, May 20, 2022, The South Asia Center hosted a Graduate Student Workshop. The workshop featured presentations from current UW graduate students on a range of topics and disciplines in South Asia Studies. Eight students presented their work to and received valuable feedback from a group of faculty, students, and staff associated with the South Asia Center. The workshop ran from 9 am to 3:30 pm, followed by an informal reception. It was organized under the following themes: Historical research on enslavement, jurisprudence, and conceptual art; research on contemporary politics related to gender, Hindu nationalism, and public health in South Asia; and works on religion, indigeneity, and sovereignty in South Asia.
