Undergraduate Minors
European Studies – Minor
The European Studies minor consists of 25 credits, not counting courses taken to satisfy the language requirement. Minors must complete two core courses, 15 elective credits, and obtain a European language proficiency requirement through the first college-level year (i.e., UW’s Spanish 103). NOTE: Students coming to the UW with three years of a European foreign language from high school have likely already met this requirement.
European Studies Minor Requirements
25 Credits plus language proficiency*
- JSIS 301 (5 credits)
- JSIS 201 (5 credits)
- European Studies Elective courses (15 credits from approved list)
- European Language Proficiency through first college-level year
NOTE: Minimum 15 credits must be at the 300-400 level
*European language through the first year, either through proficiency test or successful completion of an applicable first college-level year (e.g., UW’s Spanish 103). See approved list.
