About
Michael Walstrom is the Managing Director for the Center for Southeast Asia & its Diasporas. He was a Cybersecurity Policy Fellow and completed an M.A. in the South Asia program in the Jackson School. He received an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Eastern Washington University in 2014, and has received scholarships to study Hindi and Urdu from the American Institute of Indian Studies, Foreign Language and Area Studies Scholarship, and the Critical Language Scholarship. Michael’s thesis research examines India’s electricity sector with a focus on the privatization of distribution utilities. He also has conducted research unpacking hacker culture in India and Pakistan.
