Michael Walstrom is an International Policy Institute Cybersecurity Policy Fellow. Michael was an M.A. student in the South Asia program in the Jackson School. He received an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Eastern Washington University in 2014, and has received scholarships to study Hindi and Urdu from the American Institute of Indian Studies, Foreign Language and Area Studies Scholarship, and the Critical Language Scholarship. Michael’s thesis research examines at India’s electricity sector with a focus on the sector’s development in the Indian state Rajasthan. He also has conducted research unpacking hacker culture in India and Pakistan.
