UPDATE: *Date TBD*
The University of Washington’s Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies is honored to be partnering with NATO Allied Command Transformation to host a major event in autumn 2019 in Seattle to commemorate the alliance’s 70th anniversary and discuss its enduring importance of NATO for U.S. and international security.
This event, the “Northwest NATO Forum,” will take place in Seattle and will be the only “NATO @ 70” event in North America outside Washington, D.C. It is hosted by the School’s Center for West European Studies and Ellison Center for Russian, Central Asian and East European Studies program.
Chaired by former U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus John Koenig, the Northwest NATO Forum will be a one-day event consisting of three parts during the day followed by an evening keynote speech. Three daytime panels are currently envisioned as respectively addressing “NATO in the New Geopolitical Landscape,” “Women in International Security,” and “Emerging Technologies and the Atlantic Alliance.”
This event is free and open to the public.
