In an interview with UW News that was published Feb. 14, 2023, Jackson School Professor Sabine Lang, also the Jean Monnet Chair of Civil Society, Inclusion & Diversity in the European Union and Director of the Center for West European Studies, shares insights into how, even after 16 years as the chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel’s legacy on gender equality in politics remains a mystery, and resulted in Lang’s co-authored book “Leading from Behind – Gender Equality in Germany During the Merkel Era.”
