Pietro Zileri is a senior at the University of Washington with a passion for Europe and international business. Originally from Florence, Italy, Pietro is majoring in European Studies and pursuing his Professional Sales Certificate through the Foster School of Business. “I chose to major in European Studies because of my culture and my desire to represent my country or company in the world”. In addition to his academics, Pietro speaks English, is a native Italian speaker, and studied Spanish. Outside of his studies, Pietro enjoys movies, reading biographies, and competes with the Mens Crew Team for the University of Washington.
Pietro’s interest in international business and European studies stems from his culture of origin and interest in Europe. “I look forward to applying my knowledge and skills to the international business world”, he explains. His dual focus has exposed him to a wide variety of cultures and peoples to which he attributes his current academic interests. “I am surrounded by students from every part of the globe who motivate me to push myself by exceeding their expectations every day, and I feel humbled to work alongside them.” The classes he has taken through the Jackson school have given him, “an understanding of the dynamics, relationships and roles that each country in the world has in relation to each other.” This in turn has helped shape his desires for his future. Upon graduating, Pietro hopes to pursue either a career in diplomacy, working for the Italian Government or applies his background in European affairs to the international business community.
