The Center for European Studies and EU Center are excited to feature a new volume edited by EU Center Director and Jean Monnet Chair James Caporaso and University of Denver Professor Martin Rhodes. The Political and Economic Dynamics of the Eurozone Crisis provides a detailed account of the politics and economics surrounding the Eurozone Crisis. In the chapter, “States Choose but not Under Circumstances of Their Own Making: A New Interpretation of the Integration Debate in Light of the European Financial Crisis”, Caporaso and Professor Min-hyung Kim from Illinois Wesleyan University explore the differing theories of neo-functionalism and liberal intergovernmentalism, and how these integration theories apply to the European financial crisis.
