The Center for West European Studies welcomes Professor Sabine Lang as its new director as of July 1st. Professor Lang’s research focuses on European politics and brings in a wide variety of interests, such as multilevel governance, gender politics, and civil society; and has been an active member of the CWES and EUC community during her time here at UW. Professor Lang joined the Jackson School in 2002 as a DAAD visiting professor and currently holds an appointment as associate professor.
Professor Christine Ingebritsen was appointed director of CWES in 2010 and holds an appointment as full professor in the department of Scandinavian Studies. While she has stepped down as director of CWES, she will remain as Chair of the European Studies program.
