COGAM is one of the first LGBT organizations in Madrid and has worked on intiatives like same-sex marriage in Spain, carrying out rapid HIV tests, and going to education centers to teach about gender and sexual diversity. COGAM also has legal, medical, and psychological consulting resources, care for those with HIV/AIDS, other health services, and educational programs.
