March 8th, 2022 | Artist as Storyteller with Ken + Julia Yonetani recording now available!

March 25, 2022

Ken + Julia Yonetani are a Japanese-Australian contemporary artist duo. Their large-scale Installations are based on extensive fieldwork and research, often collaborating with scientists. Their work has focused on microbes, the microbiome, and the breakdown in balance of numerous ecosystems, including inside the human body.

Supported by the Seattle Colleges Performing Arts Fund, the Artist as Storyteller speakers series welcomes BIPOC artists, performers, and activists to share their work and connect with students about what it means to be an artist in today’s social and cultural climate. The two shares their ideas and experience in a public talk held and recorded on March 8th, 2022.

This talk is supported by UW East Asia Center, Artist as Storyteller, and UW Japan Studies Program, and will be co-moderated by SSC instructor Amiko Matsuo, and Justin Jesty from UW.
