Alumnus Freeman Halle (B.A., International Studies, 2017) is heading to Ottawa and Quebec in September to help build a policy brief on Youth in the World, thanks to winning a place at the Fulbright Youth Institute on Canada, an initiative supported by Global Affairs Canada and the Canadian Foreign Service Institute.

The program brings to Ottawa and Quebec 10 U.S. and 10 Canadian students for a series of discussions with senior diplomats and government officials on the future of Canadian foreign policy.

Halle recently completed research and policy recommendations on “Syrian Women and Children: Identifying Gaps and Goals for Reconstruction” for Task Force, an undergraduate capstone course, for which he and 15 other students developed and gave a 2-hour presentation on the subject to Middle East expert U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker in March 2017.
