Seattle is a city known for its fresh seafood, authentic cuisine, and highly developed microbrewery scene. Below, we list some recommended restaurants on campus, in the University District, in nearby University Village, and in Seattle’s downtown. These include everything from pizza parlors to waterfront dining featuring salmon and crab from Puget Sound and even Alaska.
Conference attendees will find food and drink options in several general locations on and around campus:
- In the HUB’s lower floor food court, a.k.a. Husky Den (Monday – Friday only)
- On University Way (commonly known as “the Ave”)
- At the University Village Mall
- Downtown Seattle
HUB Food Court (a.k.a. Husky Den) – Right downstairs from the conference (Monday – Friday only)
- Ace Sushi: Serving fresh, high-quality sushi and fusion food
- Crafted: Features handcrafted, high-quality sandwiches made fresh daily.
- DUB Street Burgers: Classic cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries and tots
- Firecracker: American-style Chinese food and weekly specials
- Motosurf: Pacific Island-style plate lunches
- Red Radish: Self-service salad bar with fresh veggies, fruits, cheeses, legumes and grains. Rotating hot soups
- Noodle: Join us for an all new menu featuring cook to order pasta, including Cellantani Bolognese, Kale Pesto Alfredo and much more
- Pagliacci Pizza: Pizza.

University Way (“the Ave”) – Popular with students – Close to campus
- Big Time Brewery (Casual brewery and pizzeria, popular with students. )
- Byrek and Baguette (Mediterranean restaurant with salads, byrek/burek/borek, and more)
- BB’s Teriyaki Grill (a “Chipotle-style” approach to teriyaki)
- Sizzle & Crunch (a “Chipotle-style” approach to banh mi sandwiches and a Vietnamese grill)
- Chipotle (Fast-casual Mexican food.)
- MOD Pizza (Pizza by the pie.)
- Samurai Noodle (Ramen)
- Café Solstice (Cool cafe with coffee, tea, beer, and food options.)
- Café on the Ave (Coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.)
- Starbucks on the Ave
- Café Allegro (Seattle’s oldest espresso bar. So authentic it’s in an alley.)
- Thai Tom (Cozy and casual with limited, diner-style seating. Seattle-famous Thai cuisine that will impress. Wait likely. Also a chance of fire on the stove.)
- Portage Bay Cafe – Roosevelt (Breakfast and brunch. Wait possible.)
University Village – A bit upscale – A slightly longer walk from UW
- Ba Bar (Vietnamese street food and cocktails)
