Vladimir Gross Russia Scholarship (Undergraduate Summer Travel)
Exceptional undergraduate students, including international students, interested in studying in Russia or a Russian-speaking country. Priority will be given to undergraduates to travel to Russia or a Russian-speaking country to study the Russian language, but funds may also support undergraduate students to travel to Russia or a Russian-speaking country to study the country’s history, literature or culture. Upon completion of study a report on the experience will be expected. You may apply for the Gross Undergraduate Fellowship through the Jackson School Fellowship Application System.

A written proposal, in essay format, of approximately two single-spaced pages detailing your academic plan and how the fellowship fits in with your education and/or career plans
Official or unofficial transcripts from all colleges or universities attended (in electronic format; no hard copies accepted)
Letters of recommendation; 1 general and 1 language recommendation.
The Gross Fellowship shares a common application with the FLAS Fellowship.
Please Note: Students may combine the Gross Fellowship with other non-UW summer funding only with approval from the Ellison Center.
Imre Boba Summer Research Fellowship (Graduate & Undergraduate Summer Travel)
The Ellison Center offers the Boba Summer Research Fellowship for exceptional students studying Eastern Europe or Central Asia to travel to the region for research, internships or advanced language study in an accredited language program. Upon completion of study, Boba fellows must submit a short report on their summer experience.
