In late October 2016 the United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs hosted Fulbright Arctic Week bringing together 18 international scholars. At the event three former Center Visiting Scholars participated and formally launched Issue #4 of the Jackson School’s Arctic and International Relations Series (AIRS) titled “The Many Faces of Arctic Energy.” View Fulbright

At this research symposium International Policy Institute (IPI) Arctic Fellows, Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies (Jackson School), will presented their policy papers on the theme of Arctic Indigenous Economies in Inuit Nunangat (Canada) and the Circumpolar World. Following each presentation, a UW expert in the field provided feedback on the student’s research.

Elena Bell is a new student in the Jackson School’s doctoral program and one of three of the Canadian Studies Center’s Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellows in Inuktitut, the Inuit language.
