Elena Bell is a new student in the Jackson School’s doctoral program and one of three of the Canadian Studies Center’s Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellows in Inuktitut, the Inuit language. She is currently in Victoria taking intensive study with Mick Mallon, one of Canada’s master instructors for Inuktitut. Elena’s current research interest is in Inuit political diplomacy in the Russian and Canadian Arctic.
