Shannon Pierson
About
Shannon Pierson is both a Disability Inclusive Development Fellow and a Cybersecurity Policy Fellow within the International Policy Institute. She is a third-year student in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies and is pursuing a B.A. in International Studies and minor in Disability Studies. She was a Research Consultant for Microsoft’s Defending Democracy Program in Autumn 2018 as part of a team that assessed the security of voting infrastructure in various countries, international election security best practices, and threat actors. Her research centers on cybersecurity generally, and election security specifically; as well as data privacy, law enforcement technology, and human rights.
