Paula Holmes-Eber

About
Paula Holmes-Eber is an Affiliate Professor of the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington, Seattle. In her past academic experiences, she served as Professor of Operational Culture at Marine Corps University and Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She teaches selected courses in Women and Family in the Middle East, Arab Spring: Causes and Consequences, and Culture and Conflict in the Middle East. Her publications include: Warriors or Peacekeepers: Building Military Cultural Competence (Springer, 2020); Culture in Conflict: Irregular Warfare, Culture Policy and the Marine Corps, Stanford University Press, 2014; Case Studies in Operational Culture, Quantico, VA: Marine Corps University Press, 2014, with Marcus Mainz; Operational Culture for the Warfighter: Principles and Applications, Marine Corps University Press, 2011; and Daughters of Tunis: Women, Family and Networks in a Muslim City, Westview Press, 2002.
