Nina Hokkala
About
Nina Hokkala is studying International Relations in Tampere University, Finland. She focuses on international relations of the Arctic region, with a special interest in Indigenous peoples’ rights and the effects of climate change. Nina has taken multiple courses provided by member institutions of the University of the Arctic education network, University of Washington being one of these. She is currently writing her bachelor’s thesis on geopolitics of the Arctic Ocean and plans to continue focusing on Arctic issues in her master’s degree. In addition, Nina is a Bachelor in Business Administration, and the current chairperson of a local NGO called The United Nations Association of Tampere. The goals of the association are to promote and advance the goals and principles of the United Nations in Tampere region.
