Mukhayyo Azamova
About
Mukhayyo is a policy development specialist with experience in international relations and fund mobilization. She joined the government of Uzbekistan at the beginning of its reforms and headed the International Donors Department at the Ministry of Public Education. In her role, Mukhayyo was responsible for advising the Minister on ongoing reforms and designing relevant international programs. In recognition of her contribution to the development of Uzbekistan’s education system, the government awarded her the National Medal. Mukhayyo also worked as a National Program Development Adviser for the SOS Children’s Villages International. She developed and implemented Luxembourg, BMZ, and EU-funded social projects. Mukhayyo holds a BA in Russian Language and Literature from Tashkent State Pedagogical University. She is a Fulbright Scholarship Award recipient for her MSW studies at Loyola University Chicago.
Her Ph.D. research focus at the Jackson School of International Studies is the transitional political processes of Central Asia.
