About
Marquis is a graduate student in the Jackson School of International Studies and the Information School. His research focuses on cybersecurity policies in Brazil and representations of indigenous identity in digital spaces.
Marquis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, where he majored in History and minored in Data Science. During his studies, he became interested in systems of power and the construction of state mythologies. His work intersects with his interest in data, cybersecurity, and public and private policies.
Marquis is a heritage Spanish speaker who has also studied Portuguese. He lives in the greater Seattle area with his wife, three children, cat, and dog.
