Ezgi Tuncer

I am a Professor of Architecture and Urban Studies at Kadir Has University, Istanbul, where I also serve as the Director of the Istanbul Studies Center. My research lies at the intersection of migration, urban space, power, and everyday spatial tactics. During my time in Seattle, I am conducting research on skilled migrants from the Near and Middle East — especially those who arrived following the Arab uprisings and the Syrian civil war — and situating their trajectories within the enduring climate of political repression, conflict, and displacement produced by authoritarian regimes and regional instability.
