About

Daniel Merino (He/Him/His) is a PhD Student at the Jackson School of International Studies working on space policy. His research is on international policy of lunar development with a focus on resource use.

Daniel is also the Program Manager for the Program on Strategy, Policy, and Diplomacy Research (SPDR) at the Jackson School of International Studies.

Before coming to the Jackson School, Daniel worked as an editor at The Conversation where he covered space, astronomy, physics and science policy. He was also a co-host of The Conversation Weekly podcast.

Daniel holds an M.S. in Science Journalism from Boston University (2019) and a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz (2014).
