Anisa Proda
About
Anisa Proda is a student in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies pursuing a Master of Arts in Applied International Studies. She moved from Albania to the United States in 2017. She holds a doctorate in political science from European University of Tirana (Albania). Her research interests are social capital, the intersection of disability and migration/ refugee assistance as well as disability-inclusive practices in business corporations. Anisa has been involved in policymaking related to service provision for disadvantaged groups. As an activist she has worked from the grassroots up to the policy-making level to make disability issues understandable and visible. An area that she has been particularly engaged is raising disability awareness among graduate students and young professionals. She has been lecturing on the realistic portrayal of disability in media and the visual arts.
