Aden Jones is a senior at the University of Washington. She is majoring in Law, Societies and Justice and Political Science, with a minor in Human Rights. She is planning to take a year off before attending law school. She is passionate about learning, helping others and finding ways to mitigate perpetuated systemic norms of marginalization and discrimination. During her time at UW, she studied abroad in Thailand, learning about human rights and gender on the border of Thailand and Myanmar. This experience provided insight into the importance of collaboration with local and impacted groups in policy making, something she feels is relevant to Arctic communities. Outside of studying, she is passionate about the outdoors, spending time with friends and family as well as reading.
