Seattle’s Sephardic Jews: fighting for the late Ottoman Empire and in WWI | UW Perspectives

The College of Arts and Sciences feature in their November newsletter Perspectives the story of First Lieutenant Isaac Nissim (“Ike”) Alhadeff, one of the many Sephardic Jews from Seattle who enlisted in the armed forces during the World  Wars.

Veteran’s Day on November 11 this year marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War, and it also commemorates the 69th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
