Ph.D. alumna Indra Ekmanis on Latvia’s struggle to leave Soviet legacy | Foreign Policy Research Institute

Alumna Indra Ekmanis, Ph.D., published an article in Foreign Policy Research Institute titled “The Non-Citizen Non-Question: Latvia Struggles to Leave Soviet Legacy Behind“. Ekmanis discusses Latvia’s persistent integration issues during its post-Soviet democratization.

Indra Ekmanis defended her doctoral dissertation with distinction in June 2017. She was selected as a Kennan Institute research scholar and is continuing her work in Washington, D.C. Indra is working in the Kennan Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, studying the effects of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Latvian service during the Singing Revolution and fall of the Soviet Union.
