The 2017 French presidential election proved to be one of the most important in recent memory.
While there was strong support for the far-right and the anti-European “Front National”, the new pro-European citizenship movement “En Marche” proved victorious with 65% of the vote.
The vote not only sent shock waves through the French Republic, but also throughout the world as populist, anti-European rhetoric and xenophobia soar.
Join us for a special panel discussion sponsored by the Center for West European Studies, the EU Center, and the Department of French and Italian Studies at the University of Washington.
When: Monday, May 15, 2017
Time: 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Where: University of Washington, Walker Ames Room, Kane Hall 225
