This Task Force will take on the challenge of understanding the relationship of Israel and the Middle East. Even as I write this, things are changing in Israeli and Middle Eastern politics. With the new Israel-United Arab Emirates normalization agreement, there has been dramatic change in the power balance in the Middle East, both integrating Israel into its region, but also creating further tensions with Palestinians on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Depending on one’s perspective and place, this means progress or one more obstruction in the road to peace. Our task will be to discover ways to create policy recommendations that formulate a movement forward for all parties.
