This Task Force will choose a series of highly policed borders and areas of detainment for refugees/immigrants around the world such as US-Mexico, PRC-DPRK, the Australian border, the Xinjiang region, the borders of the countries receiving Syrian refugees, refugee camps, and other borderlands. We will then examine the type of technology that is deployed on those borders with a particular focus on Internet of Things (IoT) technology. We will use this data to create a global landscape of technology use in such spaces. Then, we will see if we can trace the movement of that technology into use in general populations.
