Samuel Roller, a Jackson School master’s degree student in Middle East Studies, has been named a University of Washington Bonderman Fellow 2023. Roller is one of eight UW students selected for the annual overseas travel award.
He plans on traveling to Paraguay, Bolivia, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Nepal and the Philippines and exploring new languages as well as dialects of Arabic and Spanish, both of which he has previously studied.

Administered by the University Honors Program and the Graduate School, Bonderman Fellowships enable students to undertake independent international travel to explore, be open to the unexpected, and come to know the world in new ways.
