Extremist Use of Information and Communications Technology

In 2016, the GRG continued their work for Microsoft by providing an informational briefing and report detailing extremist use of information and communications technology (ICT). An overview of current literatures, region-specific analysis, and political and legal institution assessments allowed the team to identify current barriers to effective policy and provide recommendations. The report provided both analysis of varied extremist groups and their ICT trends, as well as reference data for the growing public policy concerns associated with the issue.
