In his article “Don’t Turn The Turkish Army Into A Political Tool“, Jackson School Doctoral Candidate Özgür Özkan examines the trend toward authoritarianism in Turkey, and the perils of the recent political participation of the country’s military in the upcoming presidential elections on June 24.
Özkan received his bachelor’s from the Turkish Military Academy, and holds a master’s in security studies from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in California.
