Jackson School Doctoral Candidate Oded Oron is featured for his research on African asylum-seekers in Israel in “An asylum-seeker’s journeys,” which focuses on the story of Yikealo Beyene, an asylum-seeker from Eritrea, whose journey to escape his homeland led him to spend 8 years in Israel.
Oron and Beyene will each be speaking at the event “Let My People Stay: Seeking Asylum in the Jewish State” at Temple Sholom in Vancouver on May 19 at 7:30 p.m. as part of a parr of their ongoing advocacy tour in the Pacific Northwest.
