Jackson School Doctoral Candidate Donghui Park, who researches cyberwar and non-state actors, has been quoted in an article in a French publication about North Korean hackers using new and sophisticated tactics in their attacks across the world.
Park points out that North Korea has traditionally excelled in manufacturing and circulating counterfeit currency. However, squeezed by tightened controls and increased sanctions, they have now found cyber crime to be an ideal way to illegally increase state revenue.
