Jackson School International Policy Institute Cybersecurity Lead and lecturer Jessica Beyer co-authors an article on “Trolling Scholars Debunk the Idea That the Alt-Right’s Shitposters Have Magic Powers,” in which she and two other scholars who have been tracking online communities and subcultures for years conclude asserting that alt-right “trolls” were a deciding factor in Trump’s victory minimizes the broader trends that amplified their influence.
