Dr. Hannah Pressman, the Communications Director for the UW Stroum Center for Jewish Studies, uncovers the journey of her great-grandmother Estrella from the island of Rhodes to Paris.
As part of her genealogical research, Pressman read through Estrella’s notebook records enabling her to learn about her great-grandmother’s geographical and cultural migrations and her studies at the Alliance Israelite Universelle in France.
Dr. Hannah Pressman received her Ph.D. in modern Hebrew literature from New York University, where her studies focused on Yiddish, autobiography, and Jewish language philosophy.
